You give me a huge election

The UK has possibly its most interesting general election in my lifetime coming up. We have the possibility of a hung parliament and major Liberal Democrat gains mean that the two-party system that previously went before is coming to an end.

I'm not registered for postal voting because I don't see why I should vote in the UK election. I'm not planning to live there any time soon so it seems a bit unfair. But if I were going to vote, I'd vote either LibDem or Labour just to keep the Conservatives out. The LibDems have policies I agree with whereas Labour have grossly disappointed me with their erosion of civil liberties since the turn of the millennium. However, Labour are still preferable to the Conservatives and if I were living somewhere that the Lib Dems couldn't possibly win a seat I'd be forced to vote for the nearest competitor to the Tories, so potentially Labour, no matter how much it sticks in my throat.

Rant over. I'll be watching the election results on the internet with bated breath on Friday in Japanese time.
